About the project

This kitchen remodel in Farragut TN started with a space that was doing its job but not much more. The layout was closed off, the cabinetry was outdated, and the finishes had run their course. The homeowner wanted a full transformation into a kitchen that worked better, looked better, and felt like the true center of the home.
Revival Properties took this one down to the studs and rebuilt it with intention. Nine weeks from start to finish, every element of the kitchen was replaced, repositioned, or upgraded. The result is a space that functions completely differently than what was there before.

The Cabinetry

White shaker cabinetry with matte black hardware sets the tone for the entire kitchen. The shaker profile keeps the space feeling clean and timeless without being cold, while the matte black hardware adds a modern contrast that grounds the design. Cabinet layout was planned around how the kitchen actually gets used, with storage and workflow both factored in before a single box went up.

Every cabinet was installed level, square, and properly secured. The doors hang even, the drawers pull smooth, and the finished product looks the same six months in as it did on day one of completion.

The Countertops

Solid butcher block countertops were selected and sealed for this project. The warm wood tone of the butcher block plays directly off the white cabinetry and gives the kitchen natural texture that keeps it from feeling sterile. Sealed properly from the start, the countertops are built for daily use without sacrificing the character that makes them worth choosing in the first place.
The countertop installation was handled with clean, precise cuts and tight seams throughout. Edges are finished consistently and the surface sits level across the full run of the kitchen.

The Flooring

Slate gray porcelain tile flooring was installed throughout the kitchen to complete the material story. The tile is durable, easy to maintain, and visually balances the warmth of the butcher block above it. Large format tile keeps the space feeling open and reduces grout lines, which makes the floor easier to clean and better looking over time.
Tile was set level with consistent spacing and properly grouted throughout. The transition between the kitchen tile and the adjacent spaces was finished cleanly so there are no awkward material edges anywhere in the room.

The Layout

Opening up the layout was one of the most impactful changes made in this project. The original kitchen felt closed off from the rest of the home. Removing the wall separating the kitchen from the living area created a connected, open concept space that makes the home feel larger and functions far better for everyday living and entertaining.
The new layout improved traffic flow, brought in more natural light, and gave the kitchen a presence in the home that it simply did not have before.
